Fixing mail troubles with a Netasq firewall

 Problem

In factory defaults Netasq firewalls enable Mail filtering, this give sometimes a problem.

 Solution

So you've installed a brand new Netasq firewall, I suddenly users are complaining about receiving mails. You checked the queue, logs and spam filter but nothing the find there! Wait the incoming mails passes first the firewall! let's take a look in the logs there..

We noticed some blocks with mail filtering.. let's disable these!

We open the ASQ and disable the SMTP plugin:

After that we need to disable the Anti-spam after all we uses our own spam filter on the mailserver:

And also don't forget to check the SMTP Proxy settings (normally this is the default setting):

Test again and the problems went away, remember when you don't have your own spam filter you could use the one from Netasq but don't forget to fune tune the settings!
