Direct Manager Connection to an IPO 500

 What

Howto connect directly to an IPO500 without broadcast discovery with the Avaya Manager

 Problem

Over a VPN connection the broadcast that the Avaya Manager sends can't find the IPO500

 Solution

When using VPN connections for remotely management of the Avaya IPO500 you'll notice that the Manager can't detect IPO500 PBX on the subnet. This is because broadcasts are blocked by firewalls, we can do this by adding the IP address directly into the Manager.

Open up the Manager and go to File --> Preferences. On the tab Discovery we can fill in IP addresses of our IPO500 PBXes.

The Manager will sends a message directly to these IP addresses so you can login to them.
