Disable Virusscan in Exchange

 What

Disable Virusscan in Exchange

 Problem

The problem I had was that McAgee Groupshield gives lots of errors and I couldn't uninstall it properly.

 Solution

During my day-job I had the problem that McAfee Groupshield was corrupted. It starts, but gives weird errors and the Exchange server was going crazy.

I disabled the services through Windows Safe Mode and restarted but, still it gave me problems. That's why I disabled McAfee Groupshield through the registry, Here is what needs to be done:

1-    Click Start, and then click Run.
2-    In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3-    In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey in the registry:
4-    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\VirusScan
5-    In the right pane, double-click Enabled.
6-    Click Decimal, type 0 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
7-    On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
8-    And start the Information Store NOW.

McAfee is now fully disabled on Exchange! (You could use this for other protectors also)
